Harry Potter JK Rowling

Actress Afshan Azad has thanked JK Rowling in a tweet marking the 20th anniversary of the first “Harry Potter” movie.

The famous Harry Potter actress Afshan Azad recently thanked J.K. Rowling. She took to her Twitter account and said, “Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone” was released, writing: “When the film came out, I was sucked into the magical world like every other kid. Little did I know years later I’d audition for a role that would change my entire life upside down. I owe everything to @jk_rowling, the casting agents and the Potter films.”

Afshan Azad played the role of Padma Patil in the last five films of Harry Potter, which is based on the novels written by JK Rowling. J.K. Rowling was under the limelight due to her comments on the transgender community last year. Due to this, the producers of the Harry Potter reunion have excluded her from the HBO Max special, “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.”

One Twitter user responding: “Respect. You are braver and more gracious than some of your co-stars, that’s for sure.”

Another said while writing: “Thank you for growing up to be a mature person not influenced by social media peer pressure. It’s important to remember to show Respect where RESPECT is due, and no one is more deserving for all she has accomplished than JK Rowling [for what she] did with Harry Potter.”

Harry Potter Reunion will include Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

Emma Watson also celebrated the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter through an Instagram post. She wrote,

“Harry Potter was my home, my family, my world and Hermione (still is) my favorite fictional character of all time. I think a journalist once said it was irritating how many times during an interview I mentioned how lucky I was and started counting… BUT I DAMN WELL KNEW!!! And still know.

I am proud not just of what we as group contributed as actors to the franchise but also as the children that became young adults that walked that path. I look at my fellow cast members now and I am just so proud of who everyone has become as people. I am proud we were kind to each other that we supported one another and that we held up something meaningful.

Thank you to the fans that have continued to show their support well after the last chapter closed. The magic of the world wouldn’t exist without you. Thank you for fighting to make it such an inclusive and loving place.

I still miss the crew who made these films all the time. Thank you for all of your hard work too – I know your contributions sometimes get overlooked.

Happy 20th Anniversary Potterheads! We hope you enjoy the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts which will stream New Year’s day, Jan. 1 on HBO Max.  Lots to look forward to.”

Harry Potter Reunion

Daniel Radcliffe also spoke highly of JK Rowling in a documentary marking the two-decade anniversary of Harry Potter.

“Jo cares about the people that she writes for. She cares about the people she writes and the people she writes for,” he stated.

“She is an immensely intelligent, funny, kind human being, and I think that comes across in her writing.”

Why is JK Rowling excluded from Harry Potter reunion?

On July 5, the Harry Potter author, JK Rowling, took to her Twitter account and shared her opinions on how “we are watching a new kind of conversion therapy for young gay people.”

“As I’ve said many times, the transition may be the answer for some. For others, it won’t—witness the accounts of detransitioners.”

Some users also suggested that she had earlier “liked” a tweet that claimed people on “mental health medication” were “lazy.”

“I’ve ignored fake tweets attributed to me and RTed widely. I’ve ignored porn tweeted at children on a thread about their art. I’ve ignored death and rape threats. I’m not going to ignore this,” Rowling responded to this claim.
